100 Bullets: Retribution, sex and conspiracy

Difficult to sum up 100 Bullets, the outstanding hard-core comic book saga by writer Brian Azzarello and artist Eduardo Risso, but I'll give it a shot: Agent Graves is a man on a sinister mission, who provides complete strangers with an untraceable gun and 100 bullets and the opportunity to seek revenge on people responsible for ruining their lives. While initially unrelated, we soon learn the strangers were all members of a group called The Minutemen, enforcers and assassins at the service of The Trust, a secret society of 13 powerful families that control the world. The former Minutemen had their memories erased following a mass assassination attempt by their own employers. As Agent Graves reawakens them one by one, a brutal tale of revenge, violence, conspiracy, power, lust and sex unfolds. The dialog is sharp and slicing, the art is violent and moody and the dames are amongst the sexiest and most devious in comicland. The covers by Dave Johnson deserve framing. The series is about to reach its 100th issue. Most of it is available on trade paperback. If you haven't read it, get it. Now.
