Dinosaurs and Cadillacs

Xenozoic Tales is an 80s comic book created by Mark Schultz that truly belongs in the 30s. Driven by the spirit of pulp fiction and fantasy adventure stories from a more innocent time, Xenozoic Tales (AKA Dinosaurs and Cadillacs) takes us to a post-apocalyptic near-future, where major cities lie under water and dinosaurs rule the earth. Its heroes, armed solely with shotguns (no ray guns) and riding cars rescued from the 50s, are beautifully drawn with a romanticism reminiscent of Alex Raymond's best strips (1934's Flash Gordon). The men are tough, the women trouble and the dinosaurs in a constant state of murderous hunger. Fans of "retro sci-fi", The Land that Time Forgot, King Kong and Journey to the Center of the Earth (the good one) will be thrilled.
